First United Presbyterian Church
Our Mission: To be the church that displays the love of Christ and connects with people of all walks of life.
The members of the First United Presbyterian Church encourage people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to participate in the mission and ministry of the congregation. We strive to help each other recognize and utilize our gifts both in service to the Church, the community and to each other. We also enjoy the fellowship of congregation members on numerous occasions whether socially or in study or prayer. As faithful members, we strive to be involved in the community surrounding us while sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

“In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives, even as we watch for God’s new heaven and new earth praying, ‘Come, Lord Jesus.’” —From “A Brief Statement of Faith”

"At the core of Presbyterian identity is a secure hope in the grace of God in Jesus Christ, a hope that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, empowers us to lives lives of gratitude: “In affirming with the earliest Christians that Jesus is Lord, the Church confesses that he is its hope, and that the Church, as Christ’s body, is bound to his authority and thus free to live in the lively, joyous reality of the grace of God.” (Book of Order F-1.0204)
This strong emphasis on the grace of God in Jesus Christ is our heritage from the founder of the Reformed tradition, John Calvin." --From https://www.presbyterianmission.org/what-we-believe/what-makes-us-unique/
By action at the Annual Congregational Meeting in 2019
the following was adopted as our new mission statement to reflect God's purpose for our church:

"To be the church that displays the love of Christ and connects with people of all walks of life."
